A federal judge on July 7 blocked the Department of Justice from obtaining the names and contact information for the people who worked on the 2020 election in Georgia’s most populous county. U.S. District Judge William Ray sided with Fulton County, which requested the quashing of a subpoena issued by a grand jury in April. “Given the low need for the subpoenaed information and the highly burdensome nature of the disclosure of the same, the Subpoena is unreasonable and must be quashed,” Ray said in a 28-page decision. The subpoena instructed Fulton County officials to provide the names, positions, residential addresses, emails, and telephone numbers of 2020 election workers, according to a copy filed with the court....
